The hot weather brings out the best outdoor food to keep the heat out of the house. There are so many healthy options and it all comes down to simple marinates. To pack a punch with your meat and veggies, here’s a simple marinate that be used with everything.

Citrus and Basil Marinate
(For 2 lbs. any meat, seafood or veggie)

2 Oranges- Zest and Juice
2 Limes- Zest and Juice
1/2 Cup Olive Oil
3 Tb. chopped fresh Basil
1 teaspoon Salt
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper

In a large bowl, combine zest and juice of all above citrus, olive oil and fresh basil. Add whatever meat or veggie and salt and pepper and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Grill according to whatever specific time works for what you’re making.
